[]  James W. Saxton and Todd R. Bartos Author Chapter in Representing Physicians Handbook

LANCASTER, PA, January 18, 2010 – James W. Saxton, Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Health Care Litigation Group and Co-Chair of the Health Care Department and Todd R. Bartos, a Shareholder of Stevens & Lee, have contributed a chapter to the Representing Physicians Handbook, recently published by the American Health Lawyers Association.

The chapter “Professional Liability: A Primer on Malpractice Insurance and Risk Management,” focuses on the types of medical professional liability insurance policies available to health care providers, and the impact and effects of each type in different practice settings. The authors examine risk management in the future of health care. The techniques they envision will be used to improve quality of care and reduce liability include enhanced documentation, such as more interactive consent forms, increased doctor-patient communication and increasing use of electronic health records.
